Meet Arielle, founder of Wallflower Music Studio
Arielle’s approach to music is deeply informed by her studies in neuroscience with a minor in music at Johns Hopkins University. This unique combination allows her to understand how the inquisitive mind connects with sound, viewing piano study as a powerful tool for cognitive growth and emotional discovery.
She later founded Wallflower Music Studio to offer a calm and encouraging space where young musicians can grow at their own pace. Her vision was to create a studio that prioritizes patience and personal rhythm, fostering a genuine, life-long relationship with music rather than just performance.
Her teaching style is gentle, observant, and rooted in a deep understanding of how children think, feel, and learn. By nurturing curiosity and providing a supportive technical foundation, Arielle empowers her students to find their own voices through the joy of the piano.
Why music matters
In an increasingly technological world, music study provides a vital sanctuary for creativity, focus, and self-expression. It invites young musicians to slow down and find their unique voice long before they may have the words to describe their experience.
We believe that piano lessons are not just about technical performance, but about helping children build inner confidence and resilience. Our philosophy is rooted in nurturing a thoughtful, lifelong relationship with music that grows alongside the student.
What students learn
Each student is unique, but every lesson balances skill with joy.

Artistry
Healthy hand position, posture, and tone from the very beginning.
Reading notes, rhythm, and patterns with calm, steady practice.
Listening, phrasing, and playing with awareness of musical story.
Inviting students to make musical choices and express their own voice.
A thoughtful approach to practice
Students are guided in learning how to practice, not just what to practice.
Each lesson includes clear practice guidance so that time at the piano feels purposeful and motivating. Students are also encouraged to take ownership of their learning by helping choose some of the repertoire they study.
While our curriculum is grounded in classical music, students are also exposed to music from a variety of cultures and styles, helping them develop a broader appreciation for the art of music.
Our mission
Above all, Wallflower Music Studio exists to cultivate a genuine love of making music.
Our hope is that students look back on their piano lessons with joy and a sense of pride in everything they have learned—forming skills at the piano that stay with them for a lifetime.
