Lessons
What ages do you teach?
We teach beginners and young students between the ages of 5 and 18.
Does my child need any prior experience?
Prior experience is not required. We specialize in starting students on their musical path for the first time, while also supporting those with some background who are looking for a creative and nurturing environment to excel.
How long are lessons?
Standard sessions are 30 minutes weekly, which is perfect for maintaining the focus of younger students. For advanced students with deeper concentration, we provide 60-minute lesson options to further their study.
What are your practice expectations?
We advocate for regular, age-appropriate practice to build lasting skills. Our approach emphasizes building a positive habit over strict pressure. Parents are given clear tools to encourage their child’s musical exploration at home effectively.
Scheduling & Tuition
How does scheduling work?
We set a dedicated weekly time for every student to ensure consistent progress. This structure helps music become a natural part of your routine. We remain flexible and understanding if you ever need to request a scheduling adjustment.
How is tuition billed?
Tuition is handled via a straightforward monthly model based on the number of lessons per month. Fees are billed at the start of each month, allowing families to plan ahead while ensuring our primary focus remains on the music and your child.
Do you offer trial lessons?
Yes, we provide an introductory trial session. It serves as a relaxed opportunity for your child to meet the instructor and try the piano without any commitment. Contact us to find a time that fits your family's current weekly schedule.
Lesson Experience
What is a typical lesson like?
Lessons start with a warm greeting to establish connection. We integrate technical skill-building with listening exercises, musical games, and modern songs your child loves. We focus on delivering constructive feedback that builds genuine confidence and success.
Do you offer recitals?
Yes, we coordinate low-pressure recitals and social open mic events. These gatherings are designed to be celebratory moments where students can share their progress with a kind audience, helping them build poise and pride in their growth.
What do students learn in lessons?
Students develop a comprehensive skill set covering proper piano technique, music reading and theory, aural training and listening, and artistic expression. We also teach students how to practice efficiently at home, fostering independence and confidence.
What style of music do students learn?
The curriculum is rooted in classical piano study to provide a strong foundation. However, we encourage students to explore diverse styles and cultural pieces to ensure their repertoire remains engaging and varied.
How do you keep students motivated?
Motivation is built through attainable milestones and actual fun. We utilize student-selected songs and regular celebrations of progress. By aligning our teaching with what each student enjoys, we keep their curiosity for music alive and well.
Location & Service Area
Which areas do you serve?
We serve families throughout Catonsville, Columbia, and Ellicott City, acting as a musical hub for the Howard and southwest Baltimore County areas. Beginning Fall 2026, we will move into a dedicated studio space.
